General
In this privacy policy, we, Schmid IT-Solution, explain which personal data we process in connection with this website and our services, for which purposes, and which rights you have. The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) applies. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Controller
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is:
Schmid IT-Solution
Wässerwiesenstrasse 67h
8408 Winterthur
Schweiz
Email: info@schmiditsolution.ch
For questions about data protection and to exercise your rights, contact us at info@schmiditsolution.ch.
Principles and legal bases
We process personal data lawfully, in good faith and proportionately, and only for the purposes named in this policy or evident from the circumstances. We process only as much data as necessary and keep it only as long as the purpose or legal obligations require. Where a justification is required, we rely on your consent, on the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures, on legal obligations or on our overriding interest (Art. 31 FADP), for example in running this website securely and reliably.
Hosting and visiting the website
This website is operated by Elevate Page (Vincent Schmid, Winterthur, Switzerland) in a data centre in Switzerland. Elevate Page processes the data on our behalf as a processor and only on our instructions; a data processing agreement sets out the details.
When you visit the website, your browser technically transmits information to the server, in particular your IP address, the date and time, the address requested, the website visited before (referrer) and your browser and operating system. This information is used only to deliver the pages and to keep operations secure and stable, for example to fend off abuse through very many requests. No access logs with IP addresses are kept.
The connection to this website is encrypted (HTTPS). The certificates required are issued by Let’s Encrypt (Internet Security Research Group, USA); only the domain name is transmitted, no data about you.
Cookies and storage in the browser
This website itself does not set any cookies.
Some settings are kept only in your browser’s storage (local or session storage) and are not transmitted to us:
- your choice between the light and the dark design
- that you closed the notice at the top of the page (until you close the browser)
You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
Providers of embedded content (see below) may set their own cookies as soon as their content is loaded.
Visitor statistics without cookies
To understand which pages are read, we count page views with Elevate Page’s own cookie-free statistics. We record the page visited, the domain of the referring website, the type of device (smartphone, tablet or computer) and the language of your browser. Your IP address is not stored for this. To count several visits on the same day together, a value is formed from the date, website, IP address and browser identifier that cannot be reversed and changes daily; recognising you beyond the day is not possible. The entries are deleted after 13 months. We have a legitimate interest in this (Art. 31(1) FADP).
Contacting us
If you contact us by email, we process the information you give us, for example your name, contact details and request, in order to reply. We keep this correspondence as long as needed to handle it and any follow-up questions, or as long as legal obligations require.
Contact form
If you write to us using the form on this website, we process the information from the form, usually your name, email address, phone number if given, your message and any other fields you fill in, in order to answer your request. The message is stored in our account at Elevate Page and also delivered to us by email. To protect against spam, your browser solves a small calculation before sending; no data is transmitted to third parties for this. Requests are deleted automatically after 2 years unless we need them longer, for example because an order results from them.
Maps (Google Maps)
On this website you can display maps from Google Maps (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA). The map is loaded only when you click “Show map”. Only then does your browser transmit data to Google, in particular your IP address and the page visited; Google may set cookies and transfer data to the USA. More in Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Fonts
The fonts of this website are loaded from our server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or other font providers.
Disclosure abroad
We generally process your personal data in Switzerland. Through the services named above, data may reach other countries:
- Google (maps): Ireland and USA
According to Annex 1 of the Data Protection Ordinance (DPO), Ireland ensures adequate data protection. In the USA, adequate protection applies only to companies certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Otherwise the providers rely on standard contractual clauses (Art. 16(2)(d) FADP), or the disclosure takes place with your consent when you load content, or to perform a contract with you (Art. 17(1)(a) and (b) FADP).
Retention period
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose or as legal obligations require. For data from this website:
- Contact form requests: 2 years after receipt
- Visitor statistics: 13 months
- Correspondence: as long as needed to handle it
After that, the data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
In particular, you have the right to information about the personal data we process about you (Art. 25 FADP), to have incorrect data corrected, to have your data erased or its processing restricted unless legal obligations prevent this, to receive or transfer your data (Art. 28 FADP) and to object to the processing. You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, contact info@schmiditsolution.ch. We may ask for proof of your identity.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch).
Changes
We may update this privacy policy at any time, for example when we introduce new features. The version published on this website applies.
